Jules Verne Polars with stdsails in heavy winds
Post by iconPost by Sailkap | 2009-11-25 | 00:28:23

I´ve noticed some small errors in heavy winds...
for example:
Wind 37,8 TWA 140,
True speed 34,6 gen, 36 jib, ZEZO says 36,6 (spin)

Wind 38,9 TWA 140,
True speed 33,6 gen, 36 jib, ZEZO says 36,2 (spin)

in fact I think it´s mixed up with the polars for Pro-sails, where they reach the highest velocity in TWA 140 in those heavy-windconditions...
The fastest windangle with std-sails is TWA 150, those polars are ok!!!

Otherwise; thanks a lot for your good-work X'}

Hello Mr ZEZO, Cvetan, Big Bird... know you participate in your own way in this race... but feel neglected when you don´t respond at all....!?

Hi Cvetan, another error to notice to you :
in 4,3 kts, I had Jib indicated but it is in fact C0 (in your notation, or Yankee2 in the game). Not really a problem as the speed is correct, but it may be indicative of other more serious differences..

Thank you very much for your incredible work :)

At certain wind speeds and angles (sail crossover points) the indicated speed may differ slightly from the reality and the optimum sail may be wrong.

I can make it perfect but have decided to leave part of the job to the players ;-)
