Better program your turns and tacks in advance in the following week.

Couldn't agree more!

VR f*cked it up again. After all those years and all those crashes in the past one would expect that the VR nerds will have their game improved...NOT! It happen so many times in the past and now again, it shows that VR are incompetent and only care for the money.
After the unexpected IC gates now unable to login especially at this important windchange.

Shame on you VR, shame on you!

I programmed the tack in advance but it did not seem to have taken place. I see zezo chart is not updating since 19:37

That's not me. The game is frozen at 19:37.

I managed to make a turn at about 20:12, but my boat is still at the end of the old straight line.

Yeah that's what I already thought and same happened with my sampan.

If I am the only one that has set a course straight for Capetown and they can't get their act together I will be the winner !!
Now that's a nice thought !

I on the other hand set a course of 154 degrees at 2040 cet. I will end up at the South Pole. Now thats not a nice thought :)

I am a bit behind the leaders. I am nervus because of this. How are the leaders nervus now...woooo. They won`t sleep all night.
I am not playing much on VR but how they usually solve this after game is back. Just make a French move like nothing happened?

Currently I am looking very solid on spot 527 ..
No challenges on my position for the last two hours ..

I am also glad that I don't have to be the nerd that comes up with the solution for this or the bloke from sales that has to talk to Volvo about the bad exposure they are giving to their product ..

Atm. some boats have moved, some not. I lost 100 places......

VR claim this afternoon, that there are more than 90.000 skippers in the Sodebo ULTIM Challenge.
Another big lie from VR - shame on you!

Now (22.07) they seem to be online again ;)

I am suddenly at position 8 (I was 28 before the server crashed) and the chart shows me appr. 20 miles ahead of no. 1 and no. 2! I have saved a screenshot of it, probably the only time I will be in such a position. But I'm sure that eventually VR will put me in my correct position... :(
Post by iconPost by SYSeaSick | 2014-11-02 | 23:31:53
There we go, I am once more behind the leaders and the rest of the pack as I should be. But it was fun as long as it lasted! :)

At the moment you probably are ..

I've gone from 31st to 163rd......and the game kept me on the course I was on pre wind update....so I was sailing in teh wrong direction for a while.....how do I lodge a protest for redress with the game?
Post by iconPost by paradolf | 2014-11-02 | 23:23:18
Use help section I gues, but I can`t see the way they will fix your position or do something. I wish you all the best of luck.
I moved too. Gain around 100 places again, but ofc. I sail in the wrong direction for an hour an a half..

I see they've closed down the forum. Surely Volvo must be worried about negative publicity at this point.
Post by iconPost by headless_monkeyman | 2014-11-03 | 15:27:41
I've learned to set every series of points with a direct heading toward Cape Town, just so maybe if the game goes down for a while I'll drift the right way :)

I've had a reply from VVOR re my boat sailing in the wrong direction after the problems yesterday...see below:

Hello,

Unfortunatelly we can't do anything now. During the disruption of the game your boat continue to sail normaly but it's true you couldn't access to the game.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The game is now working properly.

Have a nice race

Regards

Virtual Regatta

As you acn imaging, I'm not accepting this and will keep you all posted.....but at the end of the day I get the impression that VR simply do not care

thats ridiculous kewcom! im glad they were able to correct my position...for a while i couldnt figure out what the heck was going on. I tried to access the VORG forum, but they took it down. this is the only places I have been able to find info on what happened. I can't believe that Virtual regatta sent you that non-helpful email. They seem to have forgot that we are paying customers

Thanks for your support Upperdecker.....so far no email from them since the one above....I kinda knew they would simply ignore me...that seems to be their style from what I can gather.....I am frustrated as I can see where I would be right now based on the boats I was with and was able to maintain position against.....assuming I had maintained position I would be somewhere between 10th and 30th.......as it is I'm languishing in 101st (I was at about 200th at one point) and expect to lose more ground between now and the finish as my positioning is too far south simply due to my positioning following the server outage...all I can hoe for is a very favourable forecast!
