Not sure yet. Depends on the politics somehow, and I'd rather shut down the router and leave the forum open than the other way around.

But then someone will always be able to extract the boat polars in the good old vpp csv format for use in some tool.

Besides, the race should be using a slightly modified version of the Maxi polars, so if you happen to have Sodebo polars lying around you can use them to get idea about the course. Not sure yet. thanks for the answer !
I'm new here, and today, i've read the forum, so I see there's a big problem with "super" from VR-Corp. It seems their choice is to make a cash machine with a game that could have been a good one. Their choise. Let's see the alternatives.
Regards
Lolo

In my opinion, Liveskipper is the best option today

By the way, Cvetan, I don't understand where is the problem.
You helped me a lot, indicating the way to use Web Sockets in Firefox, using the "Web Socket Monitor" add-on.
So, I have an Excel program using those data we can obtain when VR is running.
He can draw the polar curves for any wind speed, and generate the csv file.
Do you want it in order to post it in the download zone?
Hervé.

(It's not a very professional job, but it make the job perfectly)

The syntax for posting links in this forum is
[url ]http://....[/ url]
without the spaces.

I don't have the time to build excel files, and may like to avoid hosting incriminating content directly on the site, but other people are free to do what they want to do.

BTW it just occurred to me that you can emulate the 4kt wind limit by modifying the polars by duplicating the 4kt column to the 0 and 2 kt columns.

In this way any router will work without manipulating the grib files.

Simple and efficient! I wish I had figured that out myself. :D

" like to avoid hosting incriminating content directly on the site"
But I am just using the data already arrived in the PC,and I don't read anything myself from VR site.

Yes, that's a good argument. Can reading data that is pushed to your PC be called hacking/stealing it, even if end-user agreement (which you haven't physically signed, btw) says so.

I agree with Herve, clearly not. You are not 'stealing' anything. You are taking something which is public domain, so it is not 'stealing' in the definition of taking something from somebody and this is impacting negatively that person (or company)
You can be sued only if one's prove that you are hurting him on one way or another.
In this case, it is the reverse, the more people uses Zezo, more players will use VR.

For me, it's obvious, certainly NOT.

Looks like we need a law expert.
There are none around here?

I hope I won't really _need_ one, but it won't hurt asking the right person few questions. I know a local guy who specializes in IP law and is associated with the local OSS/hacker culture. Have talked to him once, and may ask him to join me for a beer again some day.
