Apparently I have a little over 2 and a half days to decide to join leg 2. My question is, does any one know if the good folks at VR have heard enough protests over the current system to make any changes. My guess is no, but I am hoping that maybe some one has heard differently. Realistically I'll probably try it but I am not real hopeful of actually finishing.

So far it looks like the good folks are targeting another audience and will be happy to get rid of few thousand skippers, racers and boat owners in order to make way to level 14 for schoolboys with their smartphones.

My personal problem is that the run to Cape Town is one of my favorites, and it will be hard to resist taking my chance against the said schoolboys, the long way around, even with the minimum wind speed in place.

My problem is that during the summer I knew the VOR was coming so I bought a bunch of credits. I think I have something like 10,200. Little did I know the platform was going to change so radically. If I had known about all this card crap and the loss of historical rankings and just the total lack of communications I would have not done that.

Zero.org is the only thing that keeps me interested. By the way on your site I am Minnow. (My real boat) Is there any way to change that to "Wretched Excess"? (My boat on VR)

Here is to whooping up on the schoolboys! :)

I'm racing the old way.

No full extra pack, only Strong Wind sails, C0 and Winchs pro. No euro "wasted".

I'm a level 1 player, as I've only raced previous Vor challenges, and i only had 2300 coins.

They must be enough ;).

Thank you Cvetan for your changes to let us reach as far as we can, and still enjoy the game.

See you at Cape Town.

I’m feeling similar to you Minnow. I was surprised of the cost of full options at £13.99 and that it is now in pounds sterling rather than euros which automatically increases the price a little.

That together with my frustration over the card system.... I’m just so undecided.

I have decided to give it a try at virtual-loup-de-mer.org. It may not look as sleek as VR but most important.
- you can sail all the legs of VOR
- VR may look a little more slick, it is still a screen with virtual boats. (and you do not get all the silly white stripes running along the screen that are supposed to look like wind and that 3D thing is a gimmic, boats flying through the air :-)
- it is free (and I would not mind to pay even a little)
- there a also lots of tools
- just hope more people join so it van become a real competion

PS if anyone has suggestions for other sailgames were we can sail VOR legs please tell me

I'm going back to Virtual loup de mer as well
after all, it's where I started virtual sailing in 2008 and it was fun with a very good community around the race

see you there

CHANGE OF PLAN

VLM is a very good sailing simulation
but the competition is on VR

so I`m back on VR, I paid my £14 and I`m looking for loads of fun and challenges

VR team please continue to make the game fun

I've paid my thirty pieces of silver (it happens to be 30 in my local currency indeed) but not really happy about it.

I'll come and have a look at Loup de mer with you guys. Good luck and fair winds to all, whatever virtual sailing medium you choose.

Today I singed up for VOR leg two. Just might be my last VR race. The straw that broke the camels back, was finding that because I am only a level 10, and finished 1442 in VOR 1 my results are not available. (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!)

The first time I did an offshore virtual race was the Barcelona World Race 10/11 I also did the 14/15 one. My question is what platform is that? It wasnt perfect but it seemed to work well and was fun.
