Dear zezo himself or zezo experts,

I am confused, about the tracking lines :
You wrote : "The blue one is loxodrome" see http://zezo.org/forum.pl?tid=5548
You wrote : " Blue is the straight (great circle) line " (orthodrome ?) see http://zezo.org/forum.pl?tid=5843

Which statement is correct ?

If I want to sail to point A, do I have to :
1) Put the blue line on point A and follow heading written in red ?
or
2) Put the red line on point A and follow heading written in red ?

The red line corresponds to fixed heading in the game.

You should be able to follow the blue line in the game by placing a waypoint away enough. Then the number in red should take you along the blue path.

The numbers in the TWA and heading in the track tool should batch (unlike the router result which hast 5 degrees of noise sometimes)

So generally if you sail in that initial direction you go along the green line with fixed TWA and along the red line with fixed heading.

Just keep in mind that

1) Wind changes over time

2) The game engine seems to be using different wind data than the game interface, so even if the numbers of the interface and the router match you will end up in different place.

Here is an answer I wrote to a similar question in email few days ago:

That depends. For the current heading you can use the track tool to see
if the red line (heading) or the green (TWA) is closer to the intended
track.

For the scheduler ... it's usually regulator on with optimum TWA when
sailing roughly downwind or upwind and tacking/gybing

But if the intended wind angle is not close to the optimum
upwind/downwind angles (let's say it's between 50 and 135 degrees) and
the track looks relatively straight then you should probably turn the
regulator off

And with shifting winds sometimes it's a mix with gradually changing angles.
