Hi,

I'm a newbie @VirtualRegatta.com and I use the schedule option almost all the time (thanks for that option, no more midnight and early morning wake up calls). But, does anyone know if I need to set my course for the first 10 minutes after the 20:00 schedule at 20:00 hours or do I put the new course in at 19:59?

Regards,
George Best

It should be 19:57. Every 10 minutes iteration is deployed at 7th minute

Does this mean every timing you see in zezo should be substracted with 3? so if u see a course change at 15:30, should you make your boat changes between 15:18-15:27?

Yes, generally 3 minutes before, but it may depend on the time you refresh the page. 10 minutes in a discrete world are hard to define in a way that always makes sense.

Now when the game has a track tool itself built into the scheduler it's easier to make sure you don't miss the mark by 10 minutes and run over ground.

Is anyone else than me experiencing that the update via the Get button doesn't get updated? It seems to get stuck with the 13:47:00 reading (time is now 14:03).

There is a small (few second) window after the 7 minte mark when the game still reports your old position.

If you refresh during that window, because of browser and server caches, you get stuck with that position for the next 10 minutes. It's safer to wait until :x7.30 befor reloading.

Question: Has the 'Gate' off the coast of South America been included in Zezo's route planning for the current VVOR? Thanks for your reply.

It's Ferando de Noronha, if you right click your mouse you can select it as your destination.

I will add it to the algorithm when it gets within a reach. When it's more the 7 days ahead the router does not notice it at all.

The I usually add a waypoint or two in the Southern ocean to have default destination when sailing around the island, because heading straight for the Cape could get you stuck in the st Helena high.

So, if I've understood correctly I must enter the course of ZeZo 20:00 as 19:57 or 08:00 as 7:57 in Virtual Regatta at the wind change ? And this will not put me into the wind for 3 minutes ??

That looks right to me when looking at the Windchange marker and the Scheduled heading change cross. For the next change at 20:00 the Scheduled heading cross and the windchange icon are aligned at 19:57 and not at 20:00 ..

You can see how the game track preview tool does not make any difference between :58 and :07 because the change is executed at the game step (:07)

But for wind changes you should program the tool after the change. 19:57 is the last step with the old weather.

So, 20:07 should do it then ...

Okay, I've got it. Before a wind change at 57 minutes the last step with the old wind is given. This can last until 07 minutes at which point the new wind is kicking in. The new wind is showing on the map at the windchange time which can be confusing because it shows your boat doing the old wind step on the new wind map .. Just now it looked like I was heading into the wind doing 0 kts when in fact I was doing the old wind step ..

I had scheduled a tack at 20:00 which kicked in at 20:07 ..

I use the 8 days track for long term strategy which is now coming up. Would be nice if we have it again, could live with the above restriction though/
