ESCARGOT CLASS

Zero credit racing with a level playing field

Within our Dutch NVRZG community we established a set of rules to be able to sail without credits and to have the same limitations each race. We created TEAM NVRZG ESCARGOT and most people created a second boat to participate. In the last months we sailed several races and the competition within the team is getting tough. Every race is a new challenge as all have the same options and limitations.

The rules are:
>You are only allowed to spend the credits that you receive for the race on sails and speed improvements.
This means you have to choose 1 of the 4 available options:
Option 1: Only light wind sails
Option 2: Only C0
Option 3: Winches + hull polish
Option 4: Strong wind sails + hull polish

depending on the race length you get more or less credits to spend, however the price of the options changes with the same amount.

>Skins, radio alert, restart and frigate are not included in the calculation, so you can choose them as you wish.

>VIP is not allowed, everybody can only use the 2 waypoints and 2 program points.

>On the dashboard you can see the setup of each boat so it is easy to check if somebody sails in the ESCARGOT CLASS.

>You can follow your position on the ranking list for your team.

We call out to communities to start an ESCARGOT team and follow the rules.

Who can beat us!!!

Hi,

This challenge has existed for more than 3 years, it is the PDD challenge. Same rules as the ones you explained.

I race with No Money Sailors (Facebook) who are also allowed to use the credits earned in races. There are also some No Money Sailor teams but I am with another team.

I think managing a second boat would send me over the edge!

on your computer it is easy to manage up to 3 boats without log on and log off. create a short cut to a different language access for each boat:
https://www.virtualregatta.com/en/offshore-game/
https://www.virtualregatta.com/fr/offshore-jeu/
https://www.virtualregatta.com/es/offshore-juego/

I always thought 1 boat is the max I can handle, however 2 is not a big extra effort. 3 becomes challenging :)

Good tip, thanks.

Are you named GuestXXXX or can you name yourself/boat?

Yes can also use two (or more) differents browsers to manage two (or more) boats
I use 3 browsers with Dashboards (Chrome, Edge and Vivaldi) for ranking boats in PDD Challenge

I manage 3 boats in Edge with the 3 websites from VR.
On each site you can create a boat, only requirement is to use a different email address.
You can open a dashboard for each boat to run the automatic route planning in zezo.
