Hello Cveitan

Why can not go North after Sri lanka?
It looks like there is some limitation, because even isochronous lines stops on that boundary. Even with the "ignore gates" on.

Fair winds and thanks.

I haven't added a gate there. Does not seem to be needed this time.

There is that quirk of the router that it does not sail very well behind corners. This will fix itself once we clear India, but in those conditions with the wind blowing down the Palk strait it does not look like a good idea.

Thanks Cvetan by your answer and support.

Just trying to keep all options open.It is hard to be in the front group (just behind you ;) ).

There is a gate at Sri Lanka, so you HAVE to pass south of it.

btw 6 years ago VR forgot the gate. and the route was better. caused quite a noise in the forum.

I was talking after the Gate in Sri Lanka.
Looks good "now" that a gentle curve to North can be an option.
Shame they did not allow the choice to go also by the strait between Sumatra and Jacarta. That would be nice to see the route choices.

I see. The cutoff behind the corner looks weird indeed, but 99% of the time that's not a real problem.

The 1% would be a case where the current routing goes way south of Sri Lanka but there is an opportunity North.

With the current routing touching the island you are in good position for northern route if it exists, but crossing that low pressure system on the wrong (N) side does not look like a good idea right now.
