Registration VOR 3/11 problem with registration

Hello everyone,

When I registered for VOR 3/11, a few days before departure, I used a large amount of credits to equip my boat (all options except Radio Alert and Custom Boat). A few minutes before the start, I decided for the Full Pack option and paid the 15 Euros requested. Surprisingly, the credits used previously did not come back. So, I paid twice!

Are there other people in my case?

I asked VR to regularize this situation and looks forward to hearing from them

It's possible that if you insist, threaten to sue or something like that they may refund you some credits.

There are also players who have purchased large amount of credits for hard cash before the new rules were announced and now can't use them to get the discount.

I trust is polite and insisting requests working out well in most cases. Let other people see the problem your in, in stead of telling them what to do or how to run their business. And end with a clear request (not a demand).

I really like the Bulgarian / Macedonian proverb. Another says "do not sell the skin of the bear before you kill it", to which I would add, "it is not necessary to hit him on the head because he does not have to do not hold the same language ".

@Mike...I have been doing exactly what you say as a profession for more than 2 decades now. And as matter of a fact I think is the natural first approach. Be factual, precise, objective and polite. You are right and that is what I teach as an older colleague to the new guys, however I also have to point them tools to deal with crooks and to survive in the jungle.

And the difference is exactly when we are navigating in gray areas or not so gray. When money is at stake, when someone is picking your pocket. In that situation you ask once, if you need to ask twice you sue!

Those more than 2 decades also taught me to recognize where Santa unfortunatelly is not for sure Mike. ;P

You didn't pay any atention to what I've wrote. I don't kill bears. I scare them! But they don't lick my honey! Only if I am distracted or if don't care if whether I feed them or not.

I come back to this case that does not lack interest.

I sent an explanatory email to the VR Help Center who refused net, arguing that they do not have to repay the credits spent by mistake. Not being an error on my part, I insisted on writing again and then lived a long and heavy silence ...

This VOR regatta being proposed by Volvo and that we can play directly from their site, tired of waiting, it is to them that I addressed myself. I did not get an answer or even an acknowledgment of receipt, but two days later, after receiving a new RV refusal, the Game Help Center contacted me to make a very correct proposal. I will not go into details but their proposal does not make me lose a penny. I do not win either but it was not the goal.

I do not know if Volvo has intervened in this case and I do not care about it anyway. I think rather that my insistence has invited them to read my request to the last line.

In one of my letters, I took the opportunity to ask that computer scientists lay a few lines of code to avoid this kind of situation. To have…

Je reviens sur cette affaire qui ne manque pas d'intérêt.

J'ai envoyé un mail explicatif à l'Help Center de VR qui a refusé net, argumentant qu'ils n'ont pas à rembourser les crédits dépensés par erreur. Ne s'agissant pas d'une erreur de ma part, j'ai insisté en écrivant à nouveau puis vécu un long et pesant silence…

Cette régate VOR étant proposée par Volvo et que nous pouvons jouer directement depuis leur site, las d'attendre, c'est donc à eux que je me suis adressé. Je n'ai pas eu de réponse ni même un accusé de réception mais, deux jours plus tard, après avoir essuyé un nouveau refus de VR, l'Help Center du jeu m'a contacté pour me faire une proposition très correcte. Je ne vais pas entrer dans les détails mais leur proposition ne me fait pas perdre le moindre centime. Je n'en gagne pas non plus mais ce n'était pas le but.

Je ne sais pas si Volvo est intervenu dans cette affaire et de toute façon cela ne me regarde pas. Je pense plutôt que mon insistance les a invités à lire ma demande jusqu'à la dernière ligne.

Dans l'un de mes courriers, j'en ai profité pour demander à ce que les informaticiens pondent quelques lignes de code afin d'éviter ce genre de situation. A voir…

Si lors d'une prochaine étape j'arrive trois jours avant vous tous, vous aurez le droit de penser que le deal comprenait la boussole de Jack Sparrow à moins qu'ils m'aient fixé une fusée sur le tableau arrière de mon bateau ;-)))

That reminds me how in daily corporate life if some job dpending on other department/company does not get done you add one management level to the CC list of the email. Until the job gets done.

I bought all options with my money and when I saw the possibility to buy full pack I asked for a refund which I got. But that was after the race had started so I didn't have the possibility to buy the full pack any longer. Anyway, my options was not removed so I got them for free. Thanks Jessica!
