Does anyone know if the game will work on a Microsoft Surface Pro X using windows and not the app?

Yes. I use a Surface Pro 3 when on the road.

Playing in the browser is preferable to a phone/tablet app as you can integrate seamlessly with Zezo and Dashboard and the Chrome extensions.
