Hi there,

After the last update (Jamaican Race + Hamilton Race) Am I the only one when it comes to set a clean heading close to the shore the game goes wrong and put the ship aground for no reason ? That's the second time in their 2 last races and before that I had no issues at all like for the Mauritius record I sail along the shore with no stupid aground issues.

Thank you very much for you help and does it means that's now impossible to save some time on getting close to the shore ?

One of the changes with the new game engine is they have pushed a lot of the processing to the client (your computer). In the past, it was synced with the server every 5 minutes. Now it can run for a long time on an estimated position generated on your computer with no synchronization with the server.

The result is that visually you may not be where the game server actually determines your position to be. Also, there may be a longer delay before you are informed of an aground situation.

First, it's a very good idea to click that new refresh button in the top right frequently. Second, near land use waypoints. Never steer visually. That was good practice in the old engine, but much more so now.
