No Guy, don't confuse the wind displayed (which is ony true every 3 hours), and what the router actually knows on the server...

When new GFS is introduced, it takes time for Zezo's interpolation of the new data to align with the game's. When changes are minor, the differences are minor. But when they're major (such as in the doldrums), it can take an hour or more before Zezo matches the game. During that time, you really have to think carefully about what you're seeing in each place and adjust accordingly (or be patient) rather than making snap decisions.

Yes, quite a difference in the doldrums sometimes, up to 10 degrees (with 4 knots boat speed, of course)

The idea is to sail in the intended direction, because in 1 hour the wind will get in sync and you'll be on the projected track.

Unless it's outside of optimum VMG range or involves few sail changes and so on.

I can confirm the difference of up to 10 degrees and more - with 4 knots wind speed. At the moment I'm trying to find my way through the light winds at 0° N 41' 52'' 145° E 16' 06''.

Suggested routing is:
Wind: 28° ; 4.0 kts (TWA 75°)
HDG: 311°
Boat speed: 7.08 kts

Actual situation is:
Wind: 41° 4.0 kts (TWA 90°)
HDG:311°
Boat speed: 7.7 kts

So everything is cool...

I'll see what I can do for the next VOR and Clipper legs as we'll be sailing the same seas one more time in both races.
