Hi all,

Please uncheck the "Auto router window" checkbox in the dashboard and call the router manually only when you really need it.

Calling it at every position refresh just wastes everybody's time.

Excess load I'm guessing.

Besides not being necessary and placing excess load on Zezo, I would think there are times auto-generating a routing is undesired for competitive reasons.

If you are near a point where two alternative routes that are close in time, you'd get unstable results, having you swing back and forth between them. Pick your line, stick with it and monitor your progress on an earlier routing.

I tried adding a warning page as stopgap measure (ugly text when you load position from the extension). Not sure if it will do any good, but had to try.

Excuse my HTML skills and please let me know if it breaks something for you.

Load will probably get lower with time, but right now everyone is excited about the start, and I was not prepared for 2000 simultaneous users. Haven't seen such a crow for years.


About the constant update - yes. that happens sometimes. And even without radical changes you would still be making 5 degree adjustments all the time. And as the saying goes, quiet boat is faster.

That checkbox was not a very good idea, but with the usual low number of players it did not really hurt.

This time it's a bit different.

We'll have to do something about it, but so far the warning page seems to be doing its job.

Sorry about that. When I started to adapt it to the new engine messages I didn*t see how to disambiguate "log-in" position updates from subsequent updates.

Now I check for presence of 'leg' info which is only provided with the "log-in" position update (when entering/changing races is the game UI).

We were always updating on ws position message, so that's not new. Should have thought about it few days ago wirh all the news about 200k players. We'll get it sorted in a day or two.
