This will be a huge test for VR. In a small race, I'd assume they won't notice and fix it until the French morning. So.. . what... about 8 hours from now? But they have 750,000 racers going in the biggest event they ever host. So... Will that be enough for them to have someone paying attention, or will we all have to sail through Theta without a server?

I don't know about everyone else, but my boat's path will become a disaster before the sun rises in Paris.

What do we know about how this is likely to work out, once the server comes back up? Will it just process whatever was in place before it went down? Will all actions executed since the crash be irrelevant? In other words, if I schedule a move to avoid disaster, will it be pointless?

Yes it will be the same for me :( . Strange route.
And also I can not get my estimated position in the game.
It always gives my last position (at 23:50 french time).
I had to use the waypoint feature to get it but it is messy and if they do not solve it in the next 2 or 3 hours it is going to be very bad!

I haven't had any issues with commands not being accepted. Granted I've only made minor heading changes, but they have all worked.

Agreed. As far as I can tell, it's working fine now. Cvetan's issue must have just been shortly after the server came back up.

It was probably the usual issue of missed commands. Not absolutely sure, but it seems that just unlocking the TWA without heading change is ignored. Happened more than once.

Pour la position je pense que la bonne est celle donn� en mode 3D. Ceci doit quand m�me �tre confirm�.
Utile pour ceux qui un routeur uniquement.

And do you have any idea about how weather updates will be managed. Because on our client (laptop, tablet, mobile, ...) we are using yesterday's 6PM weather file. But the 00 file is now delivered .... but not to our boats.
Do you have any idea the way they manage that? The weather forecast will only be apply when the server will restart (if he restarts). So if we route using the new files we could have trouble no?

And now they've turned off 3D mode and thanks to the bug in asking for your estimated position setting it back to your last calculated position you need to wait for one of the irregular updates to run a route :face_palm:

... oh it's worse, they've disabled the estimated position info - why on earth .. that's not using any server resources!
