Hi all, I have a question for Cvetan regarding the polars. When we started and I interrogated the polar Toxcct supplied I saw a peak at 30 Kts both speed and VMG. As of 18 hours ago top speed is now at 26Kts but VMG remains at 30Kts.

I'll save my opinion of the polar for this race in general, and keep the original query. Is the polar being manipulated as the race progresses?

i'm traveling at 115deg and toxcct says wind 9.3kt and 10.67 kts expected.
VR only gives 10.2kts.

VR server says you are sailing at TWA 114.7 speed 10.63. Wind speed is rounded a bit, so in reality it's probably closer to 9.25

Polars have not changed since the start.

Must be VR console issue. Also would not carry sail changeover on course change and showed 2Kts if I went to 90deg....

More growing pains...

Thank you Cvetan.

Good evening,
I notice too some problem of correlation, but at the end I check double ways, and the problem is stil the fXXXXXX delay in refresh made by "spilorci" stingy and bad programmers fo VR, it's nearly +30min that it doesn't change the sail even if it recorded that should be changed.

Unfortunately, maybe you/we have to rethink the way to use this, zezo, fantastic instrument to manage the creepy VR at least fo this VG...

With auto sails active the client can be a bit off indeed, but the server is mostly doing its job.

A few days ago, I made an attempt at copying the polars from the game UI by hand to an excel sheet...and I, too, noticed a slip of roughly up to 1.5 knots for certain values when double-checking during the hours of my tedious task. It was definitely pretty odd and for certain not a problem related to my (lack of) concentration.

If anybody is interested in that excel sheet, let me know--happy to share!

Edit: Typo

It's not guaranteed that the VR polar diagram is implemented correctly. On the other hand we know that the server gets the polars right because the VRDashboard warns you about discrepancies by doing its own speed calculation.

There is a link you can click in the left column of that will do all that work for you. However, that would not have identified any discrepancies you might have found.

If you can post here what speeds and angles you've noticed changes, I can check those points in the current polars with a table I downloaded shortly after departure.
