Tessa94

I am not certain the skipper of the boat is a girl, since boats are commonly named after women. So maybe Tessa94 is run by a middle aged man, whom named the boat after his daughter? Regardless, very impressive run by Tessa94 so far, not only in this leg, but race overall.

Haha neither is true. I'm a 23 year old (born in -94) male and the boat is named after my old family dog. It's not the best name but I've had it since the VOR in 2011/2012 when I first started playing and can't really be bothered to change it.

But thank you I really enjoyed this leg with the different options and wondering which option was going to pay. It looked really dark for us for a couple of days but it came good in the end but I think I could almost as easily have been 2000th instead.

Martin

Tessa94 has an excellent track record lately. Might have won Sydney-Hobart if not for running aground in the last corner... and a top-10 in the Hobart-Whitsundays.

I confirm, I had to move the little rock to win the S-H !!!...but then Tessa did the same thing with the Australian coast for me !!! ;)... lol
COngratulation Martin, great race, and you become a strong candidate for the final victory of the VOR I think.

5 swedes in the top 20, Sweden supremacy in this leg.

Well done Martin, aka Tessa94. Nice job. I'm just glad to be within 24 hours of the top peeps and hoping for my first top 1000 result (thanks to zezo and the crowd, previous best 8117!) . . but judging by the vast number of "red dots" immediately behind and leeward I'll get a little less sleep then you tonight . . unless you're out celebrating of course!

11 now and that's quite above the average. I see about 6% VOR users from Sweden, and that should be somehow representative about the game players. 6% of 50 is just 3.

Hi Martin,
Congratulations. Well done.

Allthough we were all hoping you were the above girl hahahaha

Same for the others in the top 100 congratulations including Cvetan.

And last but not least Cvetan thank you for all the effort in setting up and maintaining this routing chart/polar and forum. Great help. But also good to see that you need more than only that.( incontrary to what some appear to say in the well read threat:) )

All going well I hope still to be able finish under 500 for the first time. No bad for a newbie. Seems like I will have to keep my promise to you:)

Cheers all

Congratulations Tessa/Martin!
Nice race and tactic. And consistance in last races is paying.

That second place of XC Race doesn't surprise me at all either..I have been noticing he is after a winning..also well deserved..and nothing new to him since he already won at least a VOR leg some years ago.

Well done also Rosteff. Always near the top also.

And well done all of you guys...this is probbably the most challenging leg...one day you have all ..the other you lose all, and than reccover and lose for good. But tha't also part of sailing :)

Overall only the 6 best legs are counted, so we can all still win this :-D

Thanks NSP, and congratulations to Tessa and XC Race!

By the way, I have only now seen your reply on my post in the routing thread. And you were right, the route to go was very long and although being a bit late for the east, Toppen and Mom have managed to get to the top of that pack eventually.
I have aimed for the middle route right from the start, taking the risk not knowing what will happen between the islands. It turned out to be the right one, but we also could have ended up being last. But then, I would still be top3 of the last, so I would still be happy with my performance. That was my point.

See you at the start line for Leg6, same same, but different...

Fair winds!

Stefan

Nope....after all you were right and I was wrong...in the end you won (well only with 2 ahead, it's a win) :P
See you in next leg Stefan!

Best of luck for the coming legs everyone. The next one will also be tough and in the previous two editions it has been full of surprises.

Congrats Martin/Tessa from a boat named after one family dog to another. I was to many hour late in Hongkong to be satisfied with this leg. Got lost a couple of days before the arrival. See you on next leg
